Albany is home to WA’s best fish and chips

Albany has been named the home of Western Australia’s best fish & chips with popular local eatery, Ocean and Paddock, taking out the award for Best Fish and Chips at the WA Seafood Industry Awards 2026.

WA Fishing Industry Council (WAFIC) Interim CEO, Manue Daniels said Ocean and Paddock had demonstrated excellence in consistently providing customers with quality, sustainable seafood.

Manue said Ocean and Paddock had long been a leader in supporting local seafood and it was owner Trent Brennan’s vision, commitment and an abundance of passion that saw the outlet recognised as WA’s favourite fish and chip restaurant.

Located in Albany, Ocean and Paddock offer an ever-changing local catch menu focused almost exclusively on sustainably sourced local fresh fish, with other state varieties also featuring heavily across the menu. Their specialty buttermilk fried lobster burger is made using Abrolhos Island lobster.
